If you’re a couple having difficulty in parenting, single parenting is probably more difficult. Single parents sometimes choose their role but, more often, they are single parents because the other parent has divorced them, left them or is in jail. As a single parent, the individual must make all the family decisions unilaterally. If the child gets in trouble, it is the single parent who must take time off from work to deal with the problem.

This would be very useful and helpful for you especially if you have kids ageing from 4-12 year of age.   • Having joke nights
  • Joke of the week on the fridge
  • Having fun times eg leisure activities.
  • Laughing at oneself and the situation.

Tip 2. Have a system of discipline which promotes joy.

  • Rules with rewards rather than punishment.
  • Focus on what the children do right rather than on what they do wrong.
  • Be consistent in rewarding children.
  • Use positive supportive, joyful words rather than negative condemning ones.
  • Give each child some responsibility.

Skills that are obvious and known to men are: performing skills (like singing, dancing and acting), skills in painting, skills in sports, skills in Math, skills in cooking and in baking etc.

Like those skills mentioned above, raising up children is a mixture of the delicate balance between responsibility and skills.

There is such term as “Parenting Skills”. Like those skills mentioned, parenting skills are also honed and enhanced. Skills in parenting however, is different. Parenting skills become required as soon as you become a parent. There is no such thing as “Parenting is not my skill”. When you become a parent, you have to have this skill.
